Rotation Example

Here's a small fictional roster late one Sunday night. The last request went to Hope.

DawnActiveEvery Day10
HopeActiveSat - Sun onlyNo Limit-
MoiraInactiveEvery DayNo Limit-
StarActiveEvery DayNo Limit-
  1. Moira is next but Inactive, so we move to Star. Star's Active with no limit, so he gets this request.
  2. Allen isn't taking requests on Sundays, so we move on. Corina is Inactive and gets skipped. (Since she gets one request per day and has none left today, she must have changed her status to Inactive after getting her request for Sunday.) Hope is active on Sundays and gets this request.
It's after midnight Pacific time, now Monday morning. Everyone starts fresh with their full number of readings.
  1. Moira is next up, so Star gets his first reading on Monday.
  2. Allen is Active on Mondays. He gets his first of the day, leaving two.
  3. Corina is Inactive and is skipped. Dawn's been reset and now gets her one request for the day.
  4. Hope isn't reading on Mondays and Moira is Inactive, so Star gets the next one.
  5. Allen gets another request, leaving him one more today.
  6. Corina is Inactive. Dawn doesn't have any requests left today. Hope only does weekends. Star gets another request.
  7. Allen takes his last request for the day.
Everybody but Star is now out for the day, and he has no maximum limit. If nobody changes their status, Star will get every reading request for the rest of the day.
